Clean Up Plant Hammond! Community Forum

Join Georgia Beyond Coal, Sierra Club Georgia Chapter, Coosa River Basin Initiative, and the Georgia Water Coalition for the upcoming Clean Up Plant Hammond! Community Forum the September 7th at 6 pm!

We're hoping to get community members ready to submit personalized comments ahead of the Georgia EPD Friday September 10, 4:30 pm comment deadline! RSVP below.

Georgia Power is requesting the Georgia Environmental Protection Division's (EPD) permission to permanently leave more than a million tons of toxic coal ash in a leaking, unlined pit at Plant Hammond west of Rome, GA -- dangerously close to the Coosa River. This is a massive environmental justice problem we are facing, not only in Rome, but across Georgia putting our water and health at risk.

We are coming together September 7th, the day after Labor Day, for a community forum to discuss the toxic coal ash at Plant Hammond and what we can do to call for its clean up! We need to get more personalized comments submitted to the Georgia EPD ahead of their Friday September 10, 4:30 pm comment deadline!
